You took the first step. Nice! If you've never worked with a freelance writer before, you're probably wondering what happens next. While every project is different, my process is pretty much the same. Here's what you can expect...
Quote Phase: Once I’ve received the details of your project, I’ll contact you so we can work out an agreement that accomplishes your goals and fits your needs and budget. I require a 33% non-refundable deposit upfront, which I will send to you in an invoice. The invoice must be paid before work begins.
Discovery Phase: Through an email questionnaire or phone chat (whatever you’re most comfortable with), I ask questions designed to help me understand your business and goals for the project. On the phone, this shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes.
Writing Phase: Sit back and relax. This is the part where I get to work on your project. I’ll keep you in the loop and updated on my progress along the way. And of course, you can check in by email anytime if you have questions.
Submission Phase: Voila! Your project will be submitted on our agreed-upon deadline. The remaining balance of my writing services will be invoiced and due upon receipt. Every project comes with one (1) free round of revisions — You let me know if there’s anything you don’t like about the piece, and I’ll perform any requested revisions (provided it's within the originally agreed upon scope of work). Additional revisions will be charged at an hourly rate.
